America The Melting Pot?

National Protest Emerges: A Day Without Immigrants

America is known as the “Melting Pot” of the world, but as of late, it seems as though whatever is brewing in that pot lacks a diverse selection of seasoning.

Ever since the introduction of Trump’s campaign against immigrants, Americans have been quite torn on the issue.

Coupled with the proposed Muslim ban, it appears as though the White House continues to press the need to rid the United States of immigrants; which has stirred extreme controversy.

Immigrants everywhere are deciding to take a strong stand. Today has been designated as “A Day Without Immigrants”.  A national boycott where business will close and immigrants will not work or shop for a full day.

From doctors to dishwashers, immigrants are integral to daily life in the U.S.,” Janet Murguia, president and CEO of National Council of La Raza tweeted.

This could have a HUGE effect on the economy and protestors everywhere are hoping to send Trump a strong message that immigration is important to the United States.

Without it, we could fail.
