Al Jarreau Dies at 76
Grammy award winning jazz singer Al Jarreau has passed away at 76.
Although his official cause of death is unknown, Jarreau was at the beginning of his tour when his medical team advised him to retire from touring due to exhaustion.
“With complete sorrow, Al Jarreau must retire from touring. He is thankful for his 50 years of traveling the world in ministry through music, and for everyone who shared this with him,” an official statement read.
Jarreau holds the historic title of being the only Grammy Award winning artist to win in three music categories.
Jarreau’s family is requesting that monetary contributions be made to the Wisconsin Foundation for School Music, his scholarship fund.
He leaves behind his wife, Susan and his son, Ryan.
He will surely be missed.
