VP Pence Breaks Tie

DeVos Confirmed As Education Secretary

Despite the national outpouring of concern, an all-nighter debate, and calls that flooded into the Senate office to express disapproval for billionaire Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary (in a 50/50 split of the Senate) Vice President Mike Pence confirmed her for the position.

For the first time in history, the Vice President was called in to break a tie.

DeVos is a strong advocate for privatizing education, so her campaign was ran as such.

She came under fire after her questionable qualifications were brought into question after her potential conflicts of interest within the education system. Additionally, she has never worked in the public school system which brought about more concern to parents and politicians alike.

What’s next for our children’s future?

That remains uncertain.
