Uber Gets a FaceLyft…

Uber Gets a FaceLyft

#DeleteUber!

In the words of Hip-Hop artist MadeinTYO, “Uber ev’rywhere, pre-rolls in the VIP yeah”…Not so!

Over the weekend, you may have noticed #DeleteUber trending on Twitter and wondered, “What in the heck is going on?”

Here’s the skinny. Protests erupted in New York (as well as in other cities) after Donald Trump issued the “Muslim ban”; citing seven countries.  This was done to prevent citizens of those countries from entering the U.S. as well as permanent residents of the United States!

The ban didn’t sit too well with many Americans, as you already know.  The ban sparked numerous protests across the nation.

Now what does that have to do with Uber? Turns out that the New York Tax Workers Alliance urged everyone to support the protest by avoiding JFK Airport. However, despite the request and protest, Uber decided to offer their service and figured they would eliminate the “surge pricing”.

This action seemed as if they were taking advantage of the situation and celebrities got pissed!

Celebs began telling their followers to delete the Uber app and encouraged them to ride another popular riding service, “Lyft”.
