Straight From The “Hart”

A Black History Lesson

Funnyman Kevin Hart is no doubt a Renaissance man.

From producing his own comedy shows and starring in movies, to branding his own line of men’s boxers, everything that he touches turns to gold. Now, he’s taking it a step further and teaching his children, particularly his daughter, a real lesson on black history and its prominent figures.

The idea came about after his daughter was understandably upset after watching “12 Years A Slave” and thought that black history only comprised of oppression. With that in mind, Hart conjured up the idea to teach her the best way he knew how – comedy.

In his upcoming two-hour TV special, Kevin Hart Presents: The Black Man’s Guide to History, he will be delving into many long-forgotten historic heroes that many schools neglect to teach about. “Not only is it entertaining, and it’s hysterical, but it also is an important program for our country right now. We hope to make people laugh and learn a bit too,” Hart said in a release.

The special is set to air on the History Channel, however an official air date has not been set.
