Prince’s Music Moves To Universal!

Prince’s Music Moves To Universal!

Last week, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) announced that they signed Prince’s estate – meaning, they now own his music.

Prince estate, managed by Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman were responsible for selling it, but Tidal is prepared to give them a fight.

According to Tidal, Prince’s music had exclusivity with Tidal. Details of the terms are somewhat unclear, considering Prince’s unexpected death.

Back in 2013, Prince’s contract with UMPG had ended, so why did they resurface now?

There are four decades worth of unreleased material, so whoever ultimately gains the catalogue will be sitting on a gold mine.

Let the bidding war begin…
