Legendary Golfer Arnold Palmer Dies!
Seven-time major championship winner and legend Arnold “The King” Palmer passed away yesterday, Golfweek confirmed.
Palmer went pro at age twenty-five and signed his first contract with Wilson Sporting Goods. Years later, Palmer won the title of “Athlete of the Decade” in the 1960s and has become one of the most influential golfers among entertainers and some Presidents including Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon and George W. Bush. “We are deeply saddened by the death of Arnold Palmer, golf’s greatest ambassador, at the age of 87,” the U.S. Gold Association said.
The golfer was so influential that he even had a drink named after him.
Arnold Palmer will be missed.
