Philando Castile’s Death

Ruled A Homicide!

The moment that the shooting death of Philando Castile became public (via a live stream on Facebook), it sparked nationwide outrage and protests. Immediately following that, Castile’s face was plastered all over media and we didn’t hear much about the identity of the officers involved.

Well, examiners have officially ruled Castile’s death a homicide and identified Jeronimo Yanez as the officer who pulled the trigger, murdering him and Joseph Kauser (his partner). Yanez claims that the shooting had nothing to do with race and that he pulled over the car that Castile was riding in (which he was the passenger) because of a broken tail light, but later changed his story and said that he fit the description of a robbery suspect because of his “wide set nose”.
